The man behind Ripple issues is back. Jay Clayton is the former SEC chairperson. On the 2nd of April in an interview with CNBC Squawk Box, talked about Bitcoin. Clayton who on the interview claims he is talking as a citizen.
Clayton is the reason some initial coins have been cracked down. His commission refused to approve Bitcoin exchange-traded funds. Yes, he sued Ripple, accusing them of selling and distributing XRP worth $1.3 billion with registering.
Jay Clayton talked about Bitcoin being a non-security but it does not qualify as being out of the SEC regulations. According to Clayton Bitcoin will be regulated by SEC both at the domestic and international levels.
Clayton is now an advisor at One River Digital and the non-executive chairperson of Apollo Global management board of directors.
